Tacoma Tile Contractor | 1204 11th St. Job

I love it when we finish a job because it gives me the opportunity to get on here and show you what great work we've done. When you are looking for a Tacoma tile contractor to help you make your home look beautiful, what better way to decide who's right for the job than to see some of their past work?

I'm calling this job the 1204 11th St. job, for obvious reasons - that's where we did the work. This was a pretty big project, and it took us about a week to finish. Pictures are to come, but to give you an idea of what we did we tore up the old kitchen and laundry room floors, which were carpet and linoleum and laid down tile. We also tore out all the old bathroom tile and put in new tile.

This job was for a rental house, so the owners wanted to keep it basic. Nevertheless, I think you can see the quality that we bring to each and every one of our jobs. If you are looking for a Tacoma tile installer, we hope you'll keep us in mind and give us a chance to take a look at your job and quote you a price.

Before Pictures

These are the before pics. I'm not going to describe them, they pretty much speak for themselves. One thing you'll notice is that we had a lot of work to do.

(I know this one below is sideways, but I couldn't figure out how to turn it!)

Needless to say, there's a lot of work to do. And we did it. This is how the job turned out.

After Pictures

As you can see, the transformation was amazing. It went from old, stuffy, dirty house to new, clean, and ready to move into. We'd love the opportunity to do this to your house too. Well placed, well installed tile can make a dramatic difference in the look and value of your house. If you are thinking of hiring a Tacoma tile installer to help you with your home improvement project, please let us know.

Tacoma Tile Contractor | What I Learned From Steve Jobs

I'm going to let you in on a personal secret - I love to read. I read a lot. Mostly when I'm not working (joke). But I love it. And I love to read all kinds of stuff. When Steve Jobs' biography came out, I decided I would like to read it. And I'm glad I did - it gave me a lot of insight into this company, the way we do things, and some ways that we can be better. So I thought I'd talk a little bit about them today.

Lesson Number One | All Tile Companies are Not Created Equal

Now, before I get too far, I wanted to let you know that I already knew that. I've worked at many different companies over the years, and it's an understatement to say that some of them valued workmanship more than others. That's why I started this company - to provide the type of service and skills that can make people's home look beautiful for years.

But, despite my knowing that, I've found it hard to differentiate myself from others upon first glance. That's one of the hard things to do with service related businesses, is set yourself apart. I can tell you that we are the best Tacoma tile contractors around, but if everyone else is saying the same thing, how do you know?

Steve Jobs in his biography did a great job of demonstrating that it is possible, though I wish he would have owned a tile business so I could see exactly how he would have done it. He took a business that had relied on commodotization (marketing on price) and showed a company could be successful by relying on great products and great service (like we do). This book excited me about thinking about new ways we can show people we are the best Tacoma tile installation company around.

Lesson Number 2 | Wanting Perfection is Not Bad

There are some people in this industry that have one goal in mind - get into and out of your house as quickly as possible. If a cut's off by a few inches or the tiles don't line up just right or the tiles are a little dirty, so be it. The job is done, the money is made, get out of the house.

But we are different in that respect. We take pride in a job well done. We want you to be able to show off our work when we're done to whomever comes over to your house. And to take that much pride in something means we are going to do whatever we can to make sure the job turns out the best it possibly can. Steve Jobs didn't rest until his products looked and performed exactly the way he wanted, and we'll do the same. We want to be more than just another Tacoma tile installer. We want to be (and believe we are) the best.

If you need some tile work done and want to have a final product you can be proud of, give us a call today. We'll come over, take a look, give you an estimate, and show you why we are the best tile installation company for the job.

Tacoma Tile Installer | The Value of a Professional Tile Installation Job

The great thing about tile installation is that it is something that you could conceivably do by yourself. I mean, just go down to Home Depot, buy some tile, some hardy board, some thinset, and some grout, and your 95% of the way there, right? But there are some things that can only be learned with experience and practice when installing tile, and it can't be learned in that 30 minute tile installation class that Home Depot offers before they send you off to start your project.

It's those other things, those things that can only be learned by experience and practice, that make hiring a Tacoma tile contractor such a great value. And that, along with a couple of other things I'm going to talk about here, should show you why you should consider hiring a tile installation professional the next time you decide to do some tile work in your home or business.

1. A Tile Contractor Will do it for You

This is one of the primary reasons you should consider hiring help the next time you take on a tile job - if you hire professional help, you won't have to do it yourself.

To give you some idea of how that works in my life, even though I'm a Tacoma tile contractor, or maybe because I am, I like to hire out a lot of the other work I need done. I have a bookkeeper keep track of the books. I have someone that helps me with the marketing of this business. When my oil needs changed, I take it to an oil change shop. When I need a new roof on my house I hire a roofer. Sure, I could do most of those things myself if I wanted to, but it would take up a lot of my time and energy that I'd like to devote to other things, things like my family, my hobbies, and my business.

What would you like to spend that extra time doing?

2. If There's a Mistake, Your Tile Contractor Fixes it, Not You

You may not believe this (particularly if you haven't started your tile job yet), but there is a lot that can go wrong when you are installing tile. You can get started wrong, you can mix the thinset wrong, you can mix the grout wrong, you can apply both wrong, you can lay the tile improperly, you can space it improperly, the list goes on and on. By hiring a Tacoma tile contractor, you avoid those problems - at least if you hire us you can rest easy knowing we won't make those mistakes.

And if, for some reason, a mistake is made, you can call us and we'll fix it immediately. What are you going to do if there is a mistake? Are you going to know how to fix it? What if it's a minor fix and you end up ripping up the floor for no reason? A professional knows how to fix the problems that can crop up with a tile installation job, and they can take care of them - and you can relax.

The next time you think about installing a tile floor or installing a back splash in your kitchen, or even re-tiling your bathroom, think of us. Give us a call, we'll give you an estimate, and we'll show you exactly why you should hire us to help you complete your job.

Tacoma Tile Contractor | Some of Our Work

One of the purposes of our blog is to be able to show you what we can do. We are very proud of our work, and are always looking for ways to showcase it. Moving forward, we'll have before and after pictures of all of our jobs, and we'll talk to you about what we did and whether or not we faced any problems. Right now, though, all we have are pictures of finished jobs - and I must say they all look great. Without further adieu, some of our work.

Tile Floor Installation Pics

I think one of the first things you'll notice about our work is that it's pristine. It is mistake free. It looks clean, it looks fresh, and it completely transforms the room. Not every Tacoma tile installer will give you work like this. Ask to see what they can do. We'll put our work up against anyone's.

Back Splash Tile Installation Jobs

There are so many ways to upgrade your house through the use of tile, and one of those is by adding a tile back splash. Here are just a couple of examples of work we've done along those lines.

Shower Tile Installation Jobs

The opportunity to get creative really presents itself in the shower tile installation jobs. As a Tacoma tile installer, this is one of my favorite things to do - the space is big enough to be creative in design, and it's done in a location that lends itself to creativity. In the pictures below, pay special attention to the spa like feel these bathrooms have after this treatment. We'd love to transform your house in the same way.

Hope you enjoyed our work! If you have questions or comments please let us know. We'd love to hear from you. And, if you've got a tile job you need help with, call us today!

Choosing a Tile Installer | Our Process

Hiring a Tacoma tile contractor can be a pretty scary thing to do. You are thinking about letting someone into your house to do work that is going to reflect on you and your family. You want it done right, and you want it done at a fair price. We can do that, and to earn your trust and demonstrate our expertise, we've designed a system to make sure you feel comfortable every step of the way. Here are just a few of the things we do to make every customer experience with On Point Tile LLC a great one.

Hiring a Tile Installer | Step 1 - the Initial Call

When you call us, you'll see from the very beginning that we aren't like other tile contractors. We answer our own phones. You won't encounter a switchboard or someone that will deflect your call, putting you on hold until you get so frustrated you hang up. And if we miss you and you leave us a message, we promise and guarantee that we'll get back to you the first moment we have a break in the action.

When you do call the first thing we'll do is set up a time to come out, discuss your project with you, and give you an estimate of what it costs us to do the work. Here's another one of our differences - our bids are firm. We won't try to back door you with fees and overages at the end. Because we do good work, and because we stand behind our reputation as Tacoma tile installers, you may find we cost a bit more than others. But we will guarantee the service that you get in return will be will worth every penny you pay.

Hiring a Tile Installer | Step 2 - the Hire

Once you decide to hire us, and we're confident you will, the next thing we'll do is set up a time for us to begin the work. We know contractors of every kind have a reputation for being less than punctual. Another one of our guarantees is that we'll be there on time every time. We know your time is important, and time waiting for us is time you've lost doing the things you need to do.

Because we know how valuable your time is we promise to be on time, every time. If we're not, we'll give you $10 cash, right on the spot. No, it's not a lot of money, but it shows our commitment to you.

When we get to your house we'll set up to make sure once we're finished you'll never know we've been there (except of course, for your new tile installation!). We take great care in leaving every home we enter better looking than we left it. And we'll take that same great care with your house. Installing tile is a dirty job. You shouldn't have to clean up after us - that's part of the reason you hire a Tacoma tile installer - to do all those things you don't want to do. And that's exactly what we aim to do.

And one final thing, before I leave you for the night. We love to have the homeowners around when we work. We love to answer questions. We love the fact that you know you are getting quality work. So, if you want to stick around and watch, maybe learn a thing or two about tile installation, then go right on ahead and do it. We'd love to have you!

We are committed to excellence in every single job that we do. At the end of the day, we want to be known as the best tile contractors in town. Give us a call today so we can show you what we can do.

Tacoma Tile Installation | 3 Questions to Ask Your Tile Contractor

When I try to think about people needing a Tacoma tile contractor to help them tile their bathroom, shower, kitchen, back splash, or whatever, I try to think about what I look for when I'm looking for an auto mechanic. I know a ton about tiling, so I try to think about something I don't know much about - that's why we go to mechanics.

When I think about what I'd want in a mechanic, it's really quite simple. First, I want good work. I can appreciate good work, and I'm willing to pay a little more for it. If I want cheap work on my car I can go get some kid from auto mechanic school and let him practice on my car. If you want cheap work on your tile installation just try to do it yourself (by the way, this is no mark on your skills, it's simply a fact that you don't do this for a living).

Second, I want reliability. I want to know when this guy who's going to be working on my car says he's going to do the work, and that it's going to cost "x," that it will. When he said the work is going to be done, it is done. And, when I get my car back, it runs like a dream (i.e. no "hidden" problems that need to be fixed later). he leaves at night after working, the place doesn't look like a disaster zone.

Third, and finally, I want trustworthiness. When I let someone work on my car, I want to know they are going to do the work they say they will do, they will do it well, and they will treat my car with the same respect and care that I give it. I also want to know that if I ever have a problem with my the way the work was done, that I can make a phone call and have it taken care of.

When I'm installing tile for someone, I want to give them exactly the same thing. I want to give them the best work quality imaginable. I want people to be amazed with our back splash installation. I want to be the most reliable service professional they've ever worked with, and I want them to know they can trust that I will deliver on everything I promise. And that's what you get with on-point-tile.

Pretty soon we'll be putting some testimonials up here, along with some examples of our work. If you have any questions or want to know anything specifically let me know. I love talking with my potential customers!

Tacoma Tile Installer | Why You Should Consider One

We all know the state of the economy today. There isn't a lot of money left aside after the monthly bills, the savings for the college fund and retirement, and all the other things that pop up on a monthly basis. So, when you decide you need to tile the bathroom floor or tile the kitchen floor or do any tile floor installation or add that for your new granite counter top, it can be tempting to do it yourself. And I get that. But there are also some reasons why you might want to consider hiring someone to do it for you. And I'm going to tell them to you right now!

Your Time is Too Valuable to Waste Installing Tile

In today's world, we are all really busy. If you have kids you can just increase the busyness by a factor of ten. You have things that you want to do on your down time that don't involve manual labor, that don't involve being on your hands and knees for hours, and that don't involve getting dirty. And with tile installation, you're going to run into all of those things.

To put it into perspective for you, even though I'm a Tacoma tile installer, when I need my oil changed, even though I could do it myself, I take it to the oil change place to get it done. Why do I do this? Simple. It's a dirty job, it's not fun, I want it done right, and while my oil is getting changed I can use that time to do other things I need or want to do. Simple as that.

A Tile Installer Will do the Job Right the First Time

Tile can be a pretty expensive purchase. Even if you go with really cheap tile, you're typically talking in the dollar per square foot area. With something that pricey, it makes sense to want to do it right the first time. Having to rip up a tile floor is no fun, whether it was because the floor wasn't level or the thin set wasn't set up properly.

With a you can rest easy knowing that job will be done right. And, even better, you can rest easy knowing that if there is a mistake, it isn't your time and money that will be wasted (at least with us - we guarantee our work, every day, every time). We stand behind our work and have no problem telling you we're the best around.

And again, to take it back to myself. Even though I'm great with tile, and with some other things, one thing I'm not good at is cars. I just never got into them when I was a kid. Because of that, my knowledge of cars isn't that great. Now, I could rebuild a carburetor if I absolutely had to, and it would probably work, but I know that someone that does that for a living could do it faster and better than I could - their expertise is greater simply because that's what they do.

We Hope You Consider Us for Your Next Tile Installation Job

If you need tile laid, we're the people for you. We're licensed and bonded, we're experienced, we take pride in our work, and we guarantee your satisfaction. Please call us today for an estimate to see if we're the right fit for you.

Tacoma Tile Installation | Welcome to Our Blog!

Welcome to On Point Tile LLC's blog! This, as you might expect, is our first post, and there will be many more to come. What we hope to tell you about here is the latest news and information related to tile and tile installation and keep you up to date on what is going with On Point Tile, your Tacoma tile installation headquarters!

Since this is our first post, I wanted to tell you a little bit about On Point Tile, who we are and what we do. As you would expect, we are a tile installation company. We have a ton of experience installing tile floors, doing back splashes, installing tile in bathrooms and kitchens, and installing tile in showers. Basically, if tile can be installed on it, we've probably done it.

On Point Tile is owned and operated by me, Jason Harold. I've been installing tile for over 8 years now, and I still love it as much as I always have. Several things drew me to tile work - getting to work with my hands, being able to take pride in a finished product, and the creativity and design that are involved with some tile jobs. I started out working for a tile company in the Tacoma area and, after learning the ropes, set out on my own to bring my brand of tile installation to the people.

As you might expect from our blog, we aren't your ordinary Tacoma tile installation company. We're bonded and insured. We're experienced. We're reliable. And we stand behind our work. Although we're confident your tile installation job will go off without a hitch, if you aren't completely satisfied all you have to do is let us know and we will make it right.

Before I sign off I do want to let you know one thing I'll be asking of you when we're finished - a review of our services and a promise that you'll let everyone know how great we were! Most of our work comes from referrals, and we encourage all of our happy customers to get the word out.

Thanks for coming to our blog, stay tuned for more news and information, and we look forward to hearing from you!
